Bridges

3DS have been involved in the Design and Detailing of many types of bridges including road bridges, rail bridges and footbridges.

A recently completed project is Newport Street Bridge in Bolton, (See attached images)
The first image is a screen shot from the 3D Tekla Structures Model shown in the final position.
The bridge spans over 36m and weighs over 300 tonnes. The main road Deck rests on six bearings, (3 at each end), and is supported by a 17m high, 32m span, 1m diameter CHS Arch, with, 14 No76 diameter tie bars  connecting the deck back to the arch.
Due to the complex geometry of the parabolic arch it was necessary for us to provide the workshop with a comprehensive set of co-ordinates to all major connection points.

• Broughton Brook Foot Bridge.
• ECML Launch Girder.
